Before you can take your practical test you must pass a
theory test which is made up of 2 parts; multiple choice
questions and hazard perception.
You have to answer 50 multiple choice questions (getting
at least 43 out of the 50 correct). These questions cover all
different subjects such as road signs and rules of the road.
For the second part you will see 14 video clips which
feature everyday road scenes. In each clip there will be at
least one developing hazard, but in one clip there will be
two developing hazards. When you spot a developing
hazard you should click the left mouse button - a sign will
be posted on the screen to show how many times you
have clicked. The pass mark for this is 44 out of 75.
After the test you will be able to leave the room and the test
centre staff will then give you your results.
To prepare for the theory test you can buy various disks
and books to help you study. We also offer theory test
tuition during your lessons on a laptop computer if you
require any help - at no extra
cost.
We also offer a test booking
service for our pupils to take the
hassle out of booking the test
yourself!
